The school assists in the rehabilitation of welfare recipients, inner city/underprivileged youth and unwed teenage mothers of Los Angeles. The SACAS mission is to enhance the youth and unwed teenage mothers self-image by teaching a skill, which allows the graduates to make positive contributions and lead productive lives. The school's mission is not only to provide training in culinary arts, but also to provide placement in restaurants and other food service facilities. As part of the school launch, the program will recognize the Honorable Darryl W. Sweeney, mayor of Carson for his dedication and great effort to make the Carson a better and safer place to live. City of Carson Council members will also be recognized as special guests. The media is welcome to profile any of the students who will begin this unique training program.
