Cheflive.com kicks off 2004 with some "lofty" goals for the new year.

February 2 2004--Cheflive.com kicks off 2004 with some "lofty" goals for the new year.

Five years ago marked the quiet beginning of a very ambitious venture indeed, a company known as Cheflive.com.

In 1998, Cheflive, the brainchild of John Guinivere, headed out across the country in an R.V., armed with nothing more than a dream and a thirst for more information. Seeking advice from hundreds of people in the culinary arts industry, they wanted to know what readers would like to see included on a new website built by chefs, for chefs. All the while they filmed chefs doing what they do best, interviewing them and taking careful notes. The result? An interactive website designed to celebrate culinary expression and good living.

Through the miracle of the internet, Cheflive will stream information from their website directly into homes across the nation, providing chefs an outlet to feature signature dishes, promote their restaurant, or share favorite products and services with a hungry audience.

John Guinivere, the founder of Cheflive, a graduate of the California Culinary Institute, has since become a master of the internet as well. When asked how the five year vision of his website has progressed, his reply was simple, "Done, Everything is in place. We have full capability to produce quality video production at an affordable cost and stream it into millions of homes, day or night, seven days a week. We also have infrastructure that supports a 24 hour cyber boutique, a travel section, and recipes that show not only the ingredients, but a DVD quality video that can show the dish being prepared."

So what's next for 2004, you ask?

Cheflive has just secured an agreement to house a fully functional studio and culinary arts center in the heart of Las Vegas' arts district, becoming a vital part of what has become a crowning jewel in the city's burgeoning re-development efforts. Turning his business into a true "brick and mortar" destination, Chef Guinivere has acquired space within an exciting new project known as the Holsum Lofts. The project, spearheaded by Jeffery LaPour, has been to convert the historic Holsum bread factory at Charleston and the 15 freeway [in Las Vegas into an upscale boutique, a venue for local artists and entrepreneurs to show their wares in an intimate setting featuring galleries, cafe's, and plenty of space to mill around and take in a little culture.

"We plan to contribute to a growing need in this city to bring people who have come here, whether to live or visit, a place to find refuge from the issues of the day to day, or from a town that makes it's living off of other pursuits", adds Guinivere.

Cheflive hopes to attract a tourism industry seeking alternative entertainment, but also a local market interested in exercising it's cultural muscles. The new studio, geared up to open in July of this year, will have the ability to entertain myriad clientele. Slated to seat up to 50 guests, the studio will have the capability to host corporate entities, serve as a promotional outlet and entertain in a studio open to the public for use. Culinary aficionados will have a place to come and learn new skills. People from out of town will have a place to book non-gaming destinations, right alongside their gaming friends or spouses. Chefs will be able to use the space to educate or entertain. Whatever they seek to demonstrate can be broadcast from the studio live over the internet, archived for future reference anytime, even slipped onto DVD after filming, as a souvenir of a day well spent. The possibilities are endless.

Whether you are interested in promoting a product or service, or finding your "fifteen minutes of fame" online, it would make sense to contact Cheflive. John Guinivere can be reached either on his website at John@cheflive.com, or by calling 702-496-3032.
Don't be alarmed when John answers the phone, this is his passion.
